Flowers
Susi Hochstrasser has been painting flowers for a number of years. Nature and the four seasons in our hemisphere are important to her. The blossoms in spring time especially, as well as the blooming time of summer inspire her to create her own – sometimes abstract – flowers. She works mostly on paper, on wood or on canvas.

The Sea
Susi Hochstrasser is often in Boston and every second year in November on Nantucket Island where she is invited to celebrate “Thanksgiving” with her American friends. At this time of the year the Atlantic is often very rough. She loves to take long walks on the beach to feel the breeze and to observe the power of the sea. She is fascinated by the sea, whether it is rough or gentle. She takes a lot of photographs and tries to capture the light and the beauty of the waves.
At home in her studio she paints her impressions - the spray of the water in the wind, as well as the dramatic big waves which pound onto the beach. For this purpose Susi Hochstrasser prefers to use ink on Mylar, in small and large formats.
Her latest works “Nantucket” consist of two parts, a combination of a watercolor and next to it a b/w photo.
